SepticPlanner is intended for the use of environmental health specialists, soil scientists, or other specialists familiar with the concepts of conventional and innovative nitrification fields. Its function is to automate the detailed design of a septic system for a user specified nitrification field type, a specified system capacity, specified soil characteristics, a specified number of trenches, and specified trench spacing, width, and depth. SepticPlanner carries out all of the calculations required to size the system, select an appropriate pump for pumped systems, determine appropriate hole size and hole spacing for low pressure systems, and insures that the values selected are consistent with applicable rules and regulations. SepticPlanner also produces a scale drawing of the system suitable for incorporation into a drawing of the permitted site.
SepticPlanner also generates, annotates, and prints the appropriate exhibits and attachments to a septic improvement permit necessary to specify to the home owner and/or installer the details of the permitted system. For mounded systems the volume of fill required is also determined.
When used with the QuikPlat PRO drawing program a compact archival file of the permitted system is created that can be recalled and easily updated and modified.
